Memorial Donations and Gestures of Good Will on Fran's Behalf...
Fran would also want to make sure everyone knew that she was comfortable at the end. Her family, "Team Fran," gave her around the clock attention and care. She was also amazed by and eternally grateful to her hospice nurses who showed the utmost of compassion, responsibility, and appreciation for her.
Fran asked that anyone wishing to make a gesture on her behalf, do so by making a donation to Neighborhood Health Agencies, inc. at http://www.nvnacc.com/ or to your local hospice organization.
Fran would also be pleased if you wish to donate money, time or frequent flier miles to the Fisher House, which helps support families of wounded and recovering soldiers and veterans. http://www.FisherHouse.org Before she went to sleep, she donated the remainder of her American Airlines air miles to this organization through the AA.com Web site... you can probably do the same through your rewards program.
Fran requested there be no funeral or memorial service... and no grave stone. Her ashes will be spread in Hawaii, on the side of a mountain, next to a tree, where she can watch every beautiful sunset. As a memorial... her son registered a star in her name... Frances-22348. The certificate arrived a few days before Fran went to sleep... she loved the gesture and the card, which read, "So we will always know where to find you and you will shine on us always!"
